A slender lad who squinted and caught baseballs with his face until the wonder of corrective lenses appeared, he was earnest but gawky in his youth - and his nose leaned to the left after one curveball too many. Lover of dogs and other furry critters, he sallies forth from the bright red antebellum hulk to challenge those who would oppress man or beast with political correctness or cruelty, whether thoughtless or deliberate. He may be too loud sometimes, but his heart's in the right place.
